Can the weather change that much?  Can you go from so cold you have to wear sunglasses and a muffler to keep your face from getting freezer burn to mild, wet brown ground, smells like spring and hell, do you really need that hat?

I’ll take manic-depression in New England for $300, Alex!

Needless to say, I have one default setting when warm sunshine and softer temperatures show up on a Sunday morning — to. the. beach!

Not to say it’s always a day at the beach at the, um, beach.  I never pay attention to things like high tide, wind conditions, etc and so sometimes we get there and the walk is not so much a walk as it is a picking a line around eddies and pools.  But today?

Today was perfect.  As we came down the path we met up with a 7-month old white Pyrenees (and his mom) named Louis who didn’t give Daisy a minute of rest and wow– did she have fun.  When I put her in the back of the car to go home, she gave me a look like a girl who’d just been out partying and dancing til the wee hours and I was carrying her to bed.  She crashed hard.  They both did.

Ollie is still a bit more of a Pied Piper than a dog who will engage in play, but Louis even had Ollie venturing into the game now and then.

They zonked out cold onto their dog beds when we walked back into the warm apartment which is ideal for me as it freed me up to sink into hours of writing, reading, skyping etc.  I have a new project I am just putting the finishing touches on that I am super stoked about and can’t wait to share with you— but that will likely be end of this coming week.
(*fingers crossed* you like it, too)

This week is still super Squam busy, but soon soon– everything will settle into place and I will be back in the happy groove of life with a good balance between the different calls on my time and the alluring tugs of projects I really want to be immersed in.

And, I shared this on facebook but am posting it here, too since many of you are not on facebook (genius = you!) It makes me more happy than anything I can possibly say.  And, explains why I am still single because who knew my husband was in Africa, married to someone else, has two darling children and is ten years too young for me?  Mystery solved!

Camera guy: “So you want us to stay in the car?”
Kevin the lion whisperer: “Obviously.”

*sigh*

 LOVE.   That is all.

All I can say is, Elizabeth your “husband” is very yummy!!!!! And if I did not have my very own snuggly husband, I would get me a one way ticket to Africa, a very convincing lion costume, and wait to be whispered to by Kevin the Lion Whisperer. I would love to rub faces with him, hahahaha. And oh yeah, so glad you had such a beautiful day with your pups being the dog whisperess 🙂 Love ya!!!! XXXOOO

I would think you need someone ten years “too young” just to be able to keep up with you Elizabeth, never mind those beautiful dogs! 😀

I watched that once from your post on FB, with Nicholas. And then I watched it again from here, with Sarah. I am doing it again tomorrow with Katie. Share the love is what I am thinking! I want to hug lions, but I totally can see you hugging lions. YOU can tame ANYTHING! Thanks for sharing though, so lovely, that video. The beach looks perfect as well. We have had a 60 degree turn-around in 7 days. From -20F to 40F! I liked today much better! xoxo

    hi elizabeth!
we did that on sunday with our pup too, you have lovely dogs! but no snow on our beach, wish that we did though. love the video too, wow, lions and hyenas, your husband 😉 really is a lion (big cat) whisperer. i've so wanted to cuddle a cub, but adult lions, eeps, they are HUGE. beautiful yet frightening.

hi Lori!! so exciting to see you here— I didn't know you had dogs, too— we DO have so much in common– looking forward to our adventure . . though, no lion whisperers, of course . . don't think sheep really need whisperers . . . ha. xo

I just googled now. It sounds so fun, but I am not really a painter…except with my kids. I think this is for people a bit more seasoned than washable tempera paint and maybe sponges if I am being wild. 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing this with me though. If I had a friend close who could do it with me, I might go out on a limb, but alas, YOU ARE TOO FAR AWAY. xoxoxoxo

What an awesome day! I love the beach and miss living so close I could walk there everyday. Thanks also for the video; I've always found big cats to be so beautiful and fascinating. And I'd have to agree with others; hunky guy 😉
