Mystic Vixen

teaching about life’s abundance

September 2, 2016 5 Comments

Dear Mindy,*

That picture above was taken by Cheryl Sutton last night as we got the fire going for our New Moon ceremony.

That light is real.

This place is seriously inhabited by gentlest, wise spirits — I kid you not.

You would have LOVED this. Yes, we tossed all that we no longer wanted to keep into the flames and yes, we called into our lives that which we next want to experience (or experience more deeply) but in-between?

we DANCED.

And I mean– the real deal– it was wild, fun and true. It was ancient, easy and deep.

In this moment, it is just after 2pm and I must head to the river for one last long, leisurely drift. This morning, we all gathered up — the full group — and went around the circle sharing what we had made this week. SUCH gorgeous work. And, of course– all in process. All is just beginning.

My offering this week — as I think you know– was all about seeing how our life, HOW we live our life, is the greatest artwork there is. We are the artists of our life and no matter how beautiful the music, the painting, the poetry or the pottery we might create– nothing can touch the masterpiece we can create in our lives when we are living consciously.

Since you are digging on the soundtrack of my current life, here are two of the songs that were part of the movement and dance we did earlier in the week.

Pray for Grace

Soul Shaker

You were a real street preacher

Teaching about life’s abundance

Living it to the fullest

Giving us all that you could

A deep soul shaker

Surely a true heart breaker

Always be a guiding light

For anyone looking for a little bit more in life

You sang do it yourself

But then teach some one

When your heartbeat was taken away

You left us with so much spirit

You were in the wrong place at the wrong time

But you

You were a fire starter

Autonomy seeker

Freedom fighter

Singing there is enough for everyone

Potluck romance

Love that love dance

You walked that walk

Talk that talk

Joy bringer

A helping hand

Yes we can

Live lets live

You were in the wrong place at the wrong time

But you had it right

Wind blows

Rock falls

A wing breaks

Father shakes

Red light

Green light

Boy race with time

Mama crying

Warm night

Barrowed bike

Last dance

You where in the wrong place at the wrong time

But you had it right

There

Is

Enough

For everyone

You

Had it right

More soonest, Elizabeth

*This month — 30 days — I am writing a letter to my dear friend Mindy because I happened on Mindy’s post where she honored me to my core — sharing that she reads my blog (my long, long neglected blog) and it inspired me to promise that for one full month — 30 days of September– I would write her a letter each, and every day. Let’s see how I do . . . 🙂

    This is the line:

This is it! I am team teaching a course this semester and we begin each class with something thought-provoking, or inspirational, or controversial…you know. Things to get the brain all warmed up, things to help us consider other perspectives, or consider how we can choose to live our lives. This quote, this will be one of those…if you don't mind.

    My soul rejoices.

OMG! I need to totally shake it all loose!!! I had a feeling this week would open up to you like the the most succulent and unexpected late August bloom…. and how sweet it all seems to be! I must know about this place(!), as I'm thinking deeply these days about our places of belonging. sometimes they find us. sometime we did over they already exist within. your words stir up all of that wonder for thought! AND gorgeous photo!!!!! like, whoa! xoxoxoxo!
