Sometimes a day’s hard and fast plans become so much fluff on the breeze; today was one of those days. And yet, the unexpected gift of the change in schedule was that it allowed me to take the dogs to the farm late in the afternoon when the fields turn gold.

The weather was perfect– unseasonably warm, but still brisk enough that there was color in my cheeks when we came back to the car. You’d think I’d be jaded and immune to this stuff by now, but it never fails to surprise me how much I love to go for a long walk with the dogs, how it is the best medicine for my heart.

Back home– my obsession with sunlight and tulips continues.
