Mystic Vixen

new york city – such a beautiful disease*

Tomorrow morning I will be jumping on a train bound for Manhattan so I think we can all assume my brain will have the consistency of raw cookie dough by Friday. Hence, the nom-nom links will be posted today.

Hey! Whoever said I was inconsistent about my inconsistency?

In no particular order– here are some sources of inspiration (for me, anyways– perhaps for you, too?)

1. seed pod like you have never seen! “It’s made from organza silk dyed with eucalyptus leaves and iron. There are clusters of shiny ‘seeds’ between the pleats. There’s a raw edge and organic tendrils.” Seriously– look through this gorgeous site. Pure inspiration.

2. links to a couple of kindred “happy bloggers” who, like me, know only too well that life is not all twinkle lights and sugared crullers– but that some of us blog to focus on beauty, light & grace (and, okay– trucker humor, but that might just be me)– so that my energy is actively directed toward what I want more of in my life. And this one cause I just loved the title of her post: I function best when I’m happy.
*note to self: make a wall poster with that sentiment.

3. eating well and exercise are on the top of my priority list right now and this food list seemed to drop into my lap from heaven above

4. found this via Amanda and yes, just like the laundry soap recipe— l.o.v.e

5. Todd McLellan = cool

And .. a little something I like to keep uppermost in my mind

When it’s over, I want to say all my life
I was a bride married to amazement.
I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms.

When it’s over, I don’t want to wonder
if I have made of my life something particular, and real.

I don’t want to find myself sighing and frightened,
or full of argument.

I don’t want to end up simply having visited this world.

*anytime I am headed to NYC this song plays on repeat in my head, go figure

I actually have that particular Peter Malick CD!

    >>so that my energy is actively directed toward what I want more of in my life<< WOW. What a concept. And one that is often very easy to forget. Love it. Have fun in NYC!
