It was a weekend without words.

Although we did spend a good part of Saturday night digging into Susannah’s marvelous (free!) workbook and that required some wordage (<–totally a word, fyi).

Over the course of the weekend we walked miles (and miles) of beach. Gathered treasures for our dream catchers which got almost finished.

Below are two shots of Meghan’s dreamcatcher. She gathered up seaweed for hers. I will post photographs of mine this week where I am going to hang it– at its center is a perfect deer antler!!

It was so crazy. We were walking through the woods looking for feathers and I said out loud, “I really want to find a bone, or a deer antler.” Less than ten minutes later Meg points to the ground and says, “like that?” Boom. Perfect two-prong deer antler with soft mossy green top. So cool.

On the last day at red beach the dogs found a perfect set of male bufflehead wings (we think, possibly juvenile) and I brought them home, washed them and they are drying now– a thin bit of the chest cartilage links them and I am going to wrap that in soft white batting and ‘wishes’ (milk pod seeds) and then, I don’t know what– that’s as far as I have gotten. Need to find out what the properties of the bufflehead are — probably same as ducks or marine birds in general?

Needless to say, dogs had a marvelous time. They were a happy pack of four. I wasn’t able to get the shots I wanted most as they were flipping hilarious in their group expressions, but it was nearly impossible to capture it. These are my best efforts:

Sorry for the smudge-y pane of glass — it was clean before, you know, four dogs proceeded to breathe, lick, and otherwise smudge it with their desire to be let in.

Mostly? It was a weekend of walking, cooking from this book, eating great food, meeting new people, and getting creative. Some of my most favorite things.

bisous, e

I cannot wait to see your dream catcher!! Foraging for magnificent finds on the shore sounds like heaven to me- and with dogs, even better!! Home is perfect for you…it shows. 🙂 Now, I have to set to work on my workbook this weekend.
