Sometimes the biggest setbacks (or at least the most painful) can turn out to be huge blessings in disguise. Not to sugarcoat the experience in any way– but simply knowing I am on strong, new ground due to this life lesson has got me shaking my head in wonder at it all.
Had a most marvelous weekend of PLAY! and an introduction to Newport that could not have been sweeter– wowza what a site for the festival– a peninsula of rolling green hills surrounded by ocean (on the penultimate summer day of blue skies and sunshine, with a big fat sea breeze steadily caressing us). People in boats of every size and shape (yachts, motor boats, sailboats, kayaks) anchored in a semi-circle on the water and bobbed along to the music.
It was super fun. Am thinking this was my favorite song:

We rocked to this song! Dancing in the fields, in the sun– I was pretty mesmerized by the young goddesses of long curly hair and wild skirts shaking it out– beauty incarnate.
Thea and Trey began their trek home this morning with a last stop at the beach . . I couldn’t join them, alas– back to work– but oh, sweet summer weekend.
