OLLIE: Yo, Pops! How’s it going, man? It’s been a while since you dropped me here at Camp Loveland so I thought I’d bring you up to speed.
OLLIE: It took some doing to settle in. It’s a whole ‘nother world here with 2+ walks a day and 24/7 companionship. My anxieties are getting better. She’s got me wearing this “thundershirt” — oh, dude. it’s SO embarrassing — some of the other dogs give me shit cause they think it’s a sweater — I have to tell them it’s NOT a sweater, it’s a thundershirt. Jeez.
OLLIE: She does take us lots of places. You know, mixes it up — keeps it interesting. Gaiter was down last weekend and it was good to see him — the guy hasn’t aged a day. I’m still not a big fan of the whole “love-in / snugglefest” that is a big part of life down here, but I’m coming around to it– you know, sort of.
But I will say one thing, no shortage of cozy places to snooze in this joint.
OLLIE: Of course, as you are probably waiting to hear– yes, The Annoying One is still here. She is always trying to kiss me and get on the bed with me, but I make sure she knows who’s boss.
OLLIE: Hey now, don’t make me feel all guilty. SHE’s the one who RUINED my life, if you recall.
DAISY: That is SO not true. Just because I am younger and adorable — I can’t HELP that.
OLLIE: Hey. This is my letter. Go write your own.
OLLIE: Truth is, Pops, I think we all still miss Henry. He was a class act and it’s just not the same with him gone.
But hey– didn’t mean to get all woebegone on your ass.
OLLIE: Things are good. I’m doing great — and that little sister of mine is getting less annoying by the day.
Sometimes? We even wrestle and play together. We’re cool
Tell Sadie I said ‘hi’ and that I miss her, too. And you? Keep it real, dude. Peace out —
Thanks for the update, Ollie. Sadie and I miss you, but we're pretty sure life with Ma is so much better than hanging around in the basement all day with only a cat to talk to, right? Sorry about the shirt (it is pretty weenie) but don't let other dogs tease you. They're just jealous of your lifestyle.
And of course, we all miss Henry. That's a fact.
Thanks for sending the photos. I look forward to some ear-scratching soon. Have fun and be a good boy, K?
ha ha it is SO weenie! xo
Ollie. I can't wait to meet you. I'm glad you're settling in – and I think you look mega hot with in your thundershirt. xo
(this is so old school BP, with Dave making an appearance as T). Hi Dave!
even i'm jealous of his lifestyle.. xoxo
total old school! mercury is in retrograde– seems fitting!
trust me, Francesca– so am I !!! xoxo
Awwwwwww! I'm so glad to read this! 🙂
I thought you would like it most especially!!
This was so much fun!! I love these pictures- those eyes all day would have me giving in- “oh, you want a treat? sure.”
I am thinking about a thundershirt for my anxious one- do they really work?
hi Eileen– I KNOW!! Daisy actually has to be a bit on a diet of green beans with her dry because during the fall all I did was give her extra treats cause I couldn't make her pain go away . .. funny thing, Ollie doesn't like treats. he won't eat eggs, fish — nothing his only love is chicken. ha. The thundershirt does seem to help– I can't say for sure– but it does seem to help– it's like he is in a constant hug, or like you swaddle a baby for comfort it works something like that . . . xoxo
So happy to hear Ollie's sweet voice here, and Daisy being all adorable. Franklin has a Thundershirt, we deemed it not so effective, he was still all nervous. But we only put it on during the thunderstorms when he shakes and generally freaks the hell out. He is still in need on anti-anxiety meds, but I think he is getting happier with age. He even wags his tail now and again! So different than our last dog who was happy all. the. time. Anyway. I am so happy that Ollie and Daisy are happily tolerating each other. I am sure Ollie will get in to the groove of love-fests soon enough. And I love the retro “T” too!
ohh poor Franklin– yes, sigh, some doggies just take things very seriously and are very sensitive . . . love him up for me!! xoxo
Wow Ollie appears to enjoy having his picture taken. So so sweet.
I adore these kinds of posts!
Xx
ha Sue– he is IMPOSSIBLE to photograph– that is pretty much all I have after 3 months with him. He never stays still long enough– unlike a certain other two dogs who LOVE the camera . . ha ha
oh I am so glad! super fun to share– oxoxo,e
HUH?! A dog who doesn't like treats?! How can this be possible?! He IS a … dog … yes? I mean, he LOOKS like a dog, but I'm starting to wonder about your Photoshop skillz now Elizabeth!
oh he's the weirdest dog—- he's always been that way– food has ZERO interest for me– a squirrel? he will chase for hours . .. go figure
Ollie, you seem like a cool kinda guy. Hang in there 😉
Ollie, you seem like a cool kinda guy. Hang in there 😉
he IS the cool one– all the other dogs follow him around for sure .. . xoox
All light-hearted and in good fun, still these sweet photos and words bring tears to my eyes… Something there is in your ability, your commitment, to create *home.* A place, surely, but even more a feeling ~ a feeling that all of us, human, canine, and all species, long for. <3 <3
oh Andrea!!! what a gorgeous, thoughtful, loving thing to write– thank you so much! xoox, e
