day of reckoning

Like most of the crazy projects I jump into without any thought or preparation, this month of posting every day has been not what I expected.
1.  It was easy.  I honestly thought this would challenge me in some way, but it didn’t.  Granted, it’s not like I ever sat down to share deep thoughts or bare my soul in some way that took some energy or careful wording– but still, I did think (for some unknown reason) that I would have a hard time sitting at the computer and tapping out my stream of consciousness for 10 minutes once a day.
Turns out? Not so much.
2.  Did I ever tell you about the assignment I once had at Bread Loaf in a playwriting class where we had to sit down and type 20 pages without stopping?  It was wild.
I highly recommend it — I am gonna do it again before the end of December.
3.  I’m gonna put it out to you, the judges, if I actually succeeded or not as I did post 30 times– only I failed to post on November 23 but, I did post twice on November 19.  Can we have a ruling?
4.  Who knew my life would get turned around with a huge healing?  Going into November, I had not the slightest intuition that Oliver would be joining us.  It was nowhere on my radar.  Talk about happy surprises and homecomings.
5.  Interesting to note I posted once in September, twice in October and thirty times in November.
6.  Let’s see what December brings.
7.  One of the BEST things that came out of this little endeavor is that I was struck by the idea to commit to a practice of yoga every. single. day in December.  This idea is utterly thrilling to me though I promise you, it will be like ninety gazillion times harder for me to complete than this November writing challenge.
8.  I am sending out holiday cards this week– if you have come to a Squam you will be getting one (cause I have your snail mail address) but if you haven’t come to Squam and would like a card– just email me your address.  elizabeth AT squamartworkshops DOT com
9.  I have had two giant breakthroughs in my morning meditations and neither of them surfaced in these postings — I find that so odd.
10.  People are pinning the most fabulous images to the Magic of Myth pinterest board.  It’s making my heart all happy skippy.
11.  When I started numbering here, I thought I would do 30 — but we were out for about two hours this morning walking the streets of Providence– to my office, to the park– and then home again and I have got to get to the Post Office and the Farmer’s Market before noon and it is 10:52am  so– gotta wrap up on magic number eleven.

Happy trails to you all —  may your weekend be full of ease and light with a smooth sail into December.  (Don’t forget to do some new moon magic on Monday!)

Have to hit the office before the park. I'm thinking they are questioning my concept of how best to start a Saturday.

But dogs are like oxygen masks on airplanes.
Dogs are umbilical. Dogs are first responders.
Dogs never betray you or hurt your feelings,
like certain people I could mention if I weren’t so polite.

Thank-you for making this normally fuzzy, floaty, odd month magical with your month of posts. It was like sitting together and holding hands even though you are far away. Much love to you and the pups, my Dear Heart.

I definitely think you have succeeded in your 30 posts in 30 days. It has been a gift for me to be able to be with you every day this month. A beautiful, soft, glow-y gift. So, THANK YOU! Your words inspire and salve, and there is so much love here. I am so happy about Oliver, and I want to know your huge revelations because I am nosy. Plus, I need to get over to that myth place and check it out! Geez. I am behind ALREADY!

Cheers to December Yoga! Love to you.

ha ha– I love that you are CURIOUS and interested in my life– it's always too weird for me to share them as I feel so kooky, but maybe I will once I get more acclimated to them . .. xoox
